Bowling

Introduction
Welcome to the bowling tournament at EuroGames. Bowling is a popular sport during the EuroGames. You will find a 3 day tournament for all players, league or social.
Depending on the number of participants we will play in one location in Dordrecht or in two locations in Rotterdam

Anticipated number of participants
Our maximum number of participants is 176 (Based on 2 locations)
The registration will be closed at this level

Tournament rules
Tournament rules will be in line with the rules of the Fédération Internationale des Quilleurs(FIQ), www.fiq.org and the rules of the World Tenpin Bowling Association (WTBA), www.wtba.ws

All participants should bring their own shoes and bowling balls. House balls are available for free use. Shoes can be rented on a daily base in the Bowling center.

Type of tournament
The tournament will be played as a handicap-tournament for everybody.

Participants with an official average can submit their average during the online-registration. This average should be verified by your national Bowling Federation or any other official determined by the tournament director of the bowling tournament for the Eurogames 2011. For players without an official average, the handicap will be given after the 3 games played in the team-competition and will be used for all games during the bowling tournament.

There will be a qualification round of 3 games in the single & team category
There will be final round of 3 games in each categories
The number of finalists will be announced later depending on the number of participants & location

If time permits there will be a qualification round of 3 games in the double, otherwise all games played in singles and team qualification round will determine the finalists

Please indicate if you want to play in the doubles and with whom If you don't have a partner we can provide one for you

Categories & Divisions
There will only be one division with the following categories:

Single: Women and Men
Double: Mixed
Team (4 players): Mixed

Days of competition
The Bowling tournament starts on THURSDAY 21 July and ends Saturday 23 July,
starting at 09 AM finishing 18 PM each day
Team qualification on THURSDAY
Singles qualification on FRIDAY
Doubles qualification on Thursday and Friday when time permits
Finals to be played on SATURDAY

Award ceremony
The award ceremony will take place directly after the finals in each category

Other important info:
Depending on the number of participants the organisation can divide the singles categories in two or more groups so more participants can play the finals and have therefor a chance to win a medal.
