NOTICE

Introduction

Volleyball is always one of the most popular sports during Eurogames in the past. It will be held for two days at four different levels.

Anticipated number of participants
Our maximum number of participants is 600.

Tournament rules
Tournament regulations will be in line with the international World Federation.

Type of tournament
Our tournament will be 2 days to ensure that all participants will have the opportunity to play around 5 games on the Friday and Saturday.

Categories & Divisions
Our tournament will be offered for men and women on levels A, B+, B- and C category.
- Registration is only allowed in one level-category and one team only (For example: you can only register B+ and not also in B- at the same time).
- You can’t register solely without a team, if you want to participate but don’t have a team yet, keep track of the EuroGames Facebook. We will set up a small forum so you can contact other people to setup a team.
- The organisation has the right to change enrolled playing levels based on professional judgement.

Days of competition
Please note: the tournament starts on Friday 22 July and ends Saturday 23 July 2011 starting 9 AM finishing 17 PM.
The organisation aims to schedule the categories in logical order to prevent waiting times. This will be communicated upfront via the website. The organisation however cannot guarantee that you do not need to be present on one of the above competition days.

Award ceremony
On Saturday 23 July after all finals are played, the medal ceremony will be held. There are Gold, Silver and Bronze medals for all levels.

Location
The volleyball competition will take place in the Topsportcentrum (Van Zandvlietplein 20, 3077AA near the Kuip stadium) in Rotterdam. This venue could host multiple other sports and has bars/restaurants. This location on the southern part of Rotterdam is also easily reached by both public transport as car. It’s only 15 minutes from Rotterdam city centre by tram line 23 to Beverwaard, stop ‘Stadion Feyenoord’.

Other important info
- The organisation has the right to merge levels on low participation level.
- A libero is not obliged, but is allowed. Make sure she or he wears a contrasting jersey colour from his or her teammates.
- Finals will be played all on Saturday 23 July. Games with players not present within a reasonable timeframe judged by organisation, will be marked as walk-over. This will guarantee a smooth tournament for all players.
- make sure your team bring along your own volleyballs so we can all practice and warm up before the game begins
