Rotterdam best festival city in the world

The city of Rotterdam has been ranked best festival city in the world 2010 in the category of mid-sized cities. It seems only natural that Rotterdam is also the host of the EuroGames 2011.

Of all the cities in the world with 500,000 – 1,000,000 inhabitants, the city of Rotterdam was recognised as having the most positive climate for festivals. This award was announced this week by the jury of the International Festivals and Events Association (IFEA) in Saint Louis, United States of America.

According to the IFEA, Rotterdam has a considerable number of professional organisers full of creative ideas. Moreover, the local infrastructure was said to be excellent. And furthermore, the jury acknowledged that all services and parties in the city were found to be co-operating closely to allow events to take place.

Also in 2011, Rotterdam will prove to be the best festival city in the world. From 20 to 24 July, Rotterdam will be completely about the sports- and cultural programme of the EuroGames.
