Rotterdam dance scoop!
Whatever will happen, the EuroGames in Rotterdam have one scoop already; the winners of same-sex dancing will be the first fully acknowledged European champions as declared officially by a signed agreement.
High performance
The European Same-Sex Dance Association (ESSDA) has fought for full recognition of the diversity in the European dance scene. High-performance dance tournaments in various dancing styles have been successfully organized for gay or lesbian couples for years, meaning two men and/or two women (same sex)dancing together.
Full acknowledgement
After years of discussion the ESSDA has finally been formally acknowledged as organization and is allowed to acknowledge gay, lesbian and bisexual couples as full European champions for the first time in Rotterdam. On the first day of the EuroGames the flamboyant and driven Davy Brocatus and the Rotterdam EuroGames-chairman Hans van Dop overcame the last hurdle to a full acknowledgement. The winners in Rotterdam will be the first fully acknowledged European same-sex champions!
