The City of Rotterdam subsidizes the Rotterdam EuroGames with 1.1 million euros.

JANUARY 2010 | coolsingel The EuroGames-foundation has been granted from the City of Rotterdam a grant contribution of 1 million euro's for the 2011 EuroGames to be organized in Rotterdam.

This was announced by council member Peter Lamers during the New Year's reception of all the LHBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) organizations in Rotterdam.

The College believes that the EuroGames contribute to a gay-friendly climate in Rotterdam. The event also provides an important contribution to the emancipation of LGBT's.

Moreover, the Eurogames beautifully combine with the city's ambition to get more inhabitants participate in sports as well as using sports-activities as a means to stimulate social cohesion.
