Kate Ryan

Finally! The most underestimated [onderschat, met al die successen? klopt dat wel?] Belgian artist, at the moment, is coming to Rotterdam so she can turn the COLOUR Festival on its top with her well-known hits. Kate Ryan’s musical career started in 2001, when she had the best selling dance single in Belgium, ‘Scream for More’. A year later she came out with the number ‘Désenchantée’, originally from the French singer Mylène Farmer, and took it to the top of the hit list. There were more than 600,000 copies sold. It was only in 2007, after she changed record label and management, that she reached the top of the lists again with the super hit ‘Voyage Voyage’. In June 2008 she came out with her 4th album ‘Free’, a combination of French and English songs. In many countries the album hit gold, and the single ‘Ella Elle l’a’ made the top 10 in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, and many other countries. In Spain, ‘Ella Elle l’a’’ was the best selling single for 8 weeks, with more than 200.000 copies sold. This success won Kate the World Music Award for best selling Benelux artist.
